Creating a Google Site
A Google Site is a free and easy way to get your students to make a website. They will need a school email address to be able to make one.
Step 1: Go to https://sites.google.com
Step 2: Login using your school email account.
Step 3: Click the plus sign in the bottom right corner of the screen.
The pink circle is where you name your site.
The green circle is where you name your front page.
The orange circle is where you click when you want to add text.
The purple circle is where you click to add images that aren't in your drive.
The red rectangle is where you add YouTube clips, using the YouTube URL.
The dark blue rectangle is for automatic layouts, eg.
The light blue circle is where you click to add files from your drive of any kind.
You can also access this whole menu by double clicking in the white area on the main screen.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE SHARING SETTINGS RIGHT FOR ANY FILES YOU SHARE FROM GOOGLE DRIVE. IF YOU DON'T PEOPLE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR FILES.

SETTING UP THE REST OF THE SITE:
When you click on the Pages menu, you can add new pages to your website. Click the + sign then name your new page.
You can also add sub pages:
Click on the text inside the header box and a menu pops up of the changes you can make to it:
When you hover on the header box, this menu pops up. You can change the image behind the text as well as the size of the header.
When you add a text box, you can click inside it for menu options.
There is also a menu at the side. The paint palette allows you to change the style of the section, including being able to add your own image, if you wish.
The next symbol duplicates the section and the rubbish bin symbol deletes the section.
When you hover on the rows of dots, you can change the order of the sections by clicking and dragging the mouse.
